INDIBA Radiofrequency

INDIBA radiofrequency is a revolutionary device for the rehabilitation of horses in both acute and chronic cases, before or after surgery, by providing advanced therapeutic benefits at a cellular level. It is also indicated for performance enhancement in the equine athlete. There is significant, peer-reviewed scientific research carried out over the last 35+ years to support the use of INDIBA radiofrequency in both the human and veterinary fields.

INDIBA operates at a unique and fixed frequency of 448kHz which has been found to be the optimum frequency for biological effectiveness, promoting an acceleration in tissue repair mechanisms (Hernandez-Bule et al., 2017). The therapeutic application of this radiofrequency induces either a thermal or sub-thermal effect which activates the body's natural healing mechanisms to regenerate and repair by cellular bio-stimulation (Hernandez-Bule et al., 2017), vascularisation (Kumaran et al., 2017), and pain relief (Kumaran & Watson, 2019).

By operating the electric current within a closed circuit, INDIBA radiofrequency has been identified by scientific research as a modality with the deepest penetration potential (Kumaran et al., 2017). This means that it is able to reach structures that other therapies cannot, including the sacroiliac (SI) joint and deep gluteal muscles.

Conditions that can benefit from INDIBA radiofrequency include:

  • Joint conditions - i.e. osteoarthritis/degenerative joint disease (OA/DJD), osteochondrosis dissecans (OCD), sacroiliac dysfunction (SID)

  • Tendon injuries - acute or chronic

  • Ligament injuries - acute or chronic

  • Pre-surgical prehabilitation

  • Post-surgical recovery and rehabilitation

  • Muscle injuries

  • Wounds

  • Laminitis

  • Side bone

  • Bone splints

  • Spinal conditions - kissing spines (ODSP), facet joint OA

  • Pain relief

  • Haematomas

  • Muscle recovery

  • Performance enhancement

How does INDIBA radiofrequency differ from other electrotherapies?

  • It can be used on acute and chronic injuries.

  • It can be used in conjunction with PRP or stem-cell injections.

  • The closed circuit operation means it has one of the deepest penetration potentials of all electro-physical agents. This means INDIBA can reach deep structures such as the SI joint which cannot be replicated in other electrotherapies like phototherapy or therapeutic ultrasound.

  • It can be used over metal-implants. This can be especially beneficial post-surgery.
